“From the moment I turned the page of my bridal magazine and saw the beautiful ‘Ida‘ designed by Sophia Tolli, it was love at first sight. When I tried her on at Gillian Roberts Bridal Boutique in Eltham, I knew this dress was ‘the one’. Each and every lady in this shop is so incredibly friendly and were so unbelievably helpful. I loved the detail of the beading and the pewter lace; it was both elegant and sophisticated. I loved how the beading twinkled as it caught the light and truly glistened as the lighting changed into the evening. I loved the shape of ‘Ida’ and found the sash around the waist incredibly flattering. The incredibly talented Hazel at Gillian Roberts designed and made me a beautiful comb for my hair which matched the brooch at the side of the sash. I felt like a princess all day and was also so comfortable. The dress moved so beautifully as I walked and I loved how it moved when I hit the dance floor so much that I didn’t want to pin the train up at the back and kept it down all night. I could not imagine wearing any other dress.
Myself and my husband got married on the 1st April 2016 at Northbrook Park in Farnham, Surrey. We fell in love with this venue as soon as we visited, from the Orangery to the Peacocks that roam the gardens, this venue is filled with charm. The venue provided us with the beautiful English country wedding that we wanted; it was formal yet so relaxed. We got married in the Vine Room which flooded with sun light through the French doors which surround the room. As it was a chilly April afternoon, our ceremony took place by the beautiful open fire place.
We wanted a warm and classical colour scheme and therefore chose peach, soft gold and ivory. Our theme was ‘Champagne’ as at the beginning of our relationship we took a trip to the beautiful Champagne region of France and it has been one of our favorite places ever since. The centrepieces were champagne magnums with a candle in the top and a wreath of peach and ivory flowers around the bottom. We had also collected 150 Champagne corks which we used as our place card holders.
My Husband made the favours which were small bottles of his homemade Limmoncello and plum gin (he even picked the plums from the fruit tree in my parents’ garden).
We had the most magical day and loved every minute of our day. I wish we could do it all again.”
