While we don’t know the story behind this trash the dress session, and can only guess, we can say with certainty that this bride went all out destroying her wedding dress! The groom is in casual attire so we assume that this shoot took place after the wedding. We are also guessing that the location was the Jersey shore judging by the color of the water. There is no mistaking that! The jury is out on trash the dress sessions. A trend for a few years, we thought the fad was ending but then came upon these images on Twisted Oaks Studio‘s Facebook page. While we understand that photographers love these sessions for the creative aspects involved and the amazing images they capture, we can think of many other things to do with a once worn wedding dress besides getting it all dirty with sand and salt water. Like donating it to someone less fortunate. Or having it preserved and some day passed down to a family member. Sell it on ebay to recoup some of the cost. But ruining it beyond repair seems kind of wasteful and dare we say sacrilegious? Or maybe these images are just more shocking than the usual trash the dress because of all the sand clinging to the bride’s once pristine dress? What do you think of the trash the dress trend? Time to move on or it’s cool? To see more trash the dress sessions see here and here.
