“Our wedding was all about love, family and friends. We got married in my husband’s small home town which is a farming community in Northwestern Ontario. With an ice storm and snow fall just 2 days before, I did not panic and knew we couldn’t control the weather. Along came our wedding day! The sun was shining, the grass was green and the snow was melted. My Dad hauled up his 1970 Dodge Charger which he has had since he was 18. It was family tradition to have this car as a wedding car and he made my dream come true (this wouldn’t have happened if it kept snowing!) Every detail came together perfectly and it was a day we will never forget.
My dress was a Sophia Tolli Prinia gown – style Y11552. I loved all the Sophia gowns I had browsed online before going shopping. The gown was purchased at Irma’s Bridal Boutique in Thunder Bay. My gown came in and was a couple sizes too large. I cannot stress the importance of a good seamstress. My seamstress was Kelly from GranDesigns in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Irma had ordered extra appliques for me to create a veil or straps. Kelly thought of a “topper” instead which was an undershirt that gave me sleeves and helped me transition two beautiful looks between the ceremony and reception. My dress fit me perfectly and I felt wonderful all day!”
