“My husband Jake and I decided on having a destination wedding since we both love to travel and go backpacking. It was an intimate event with just my parents in attendance. We were married at Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada which is an hour ride from of Las Vegas. We worked with Scenic Las Vegas for our venue, pastor, photographer, and limo driver. For mine and my mother’s hair and makeup, we used Makeup in the 702. Most importantly, I purchased my gorgeous David Tutera for Mon Cheri “Savi” wedding dress and jewelry at Perfect Fit in Clio, Michigan.
The day began at Mandalay Bay where we had our hair and makeup done in our hotel room by Makeup in the 702. Our hair and makeup artists names were Annie and Courtney. They were both phenomenal and very professional young ladies. I then slipped into my David Tutera “Savi” dress and put on my jewelry and I instantly felt like the most beautiful woman that day! Around noon, Jake and my father (Steve) came to my hotel room to pick me and my mother up to take us downstairs to our Mercedes limo that was waiting for us. When Jake opened the hotel room and saw me in my wedding dress for the first time, he could not stop smiling. Jake then whispered into my ear that I looked like the Disney Princess Elsa.
We then proceeded to the limo where it was an hour ride from Mandalay Bay. On the way to our venue we realized the weather was absolutely perfect — sunny and 70 degrees with no cloud in the sky. We arrived and met our Pastor who preformed the ceremony at “Bride Rock” which was a little rock I stood on during the ceremony. We then had our pictures taken for 2 hours after our ceremony. After our pictures, we road back in the limo to the Bellagio where we ate our wedding dinner at Lago next to the window so we could view the Bellagio water fountain show. While walking in towards the restaurant, little girls kept asking me if I was a princess and if I could twirl my dress for them. How could I say no to that? I felt like a princess! We then went to the restaurant and ate a marvelous dinner. As my groom and I started leaving Lago, my father stood up and said “Let’s hear it for the bride and groom!” and started clinking his water glass with a fork. The whole restaurant erupted in cheer, clinking of glasses and clapping as Jake and I kissed around hundreds of strangers celebrating our love for each other.
We then celebrated the evening by attending a Cirque Du Soliel show “Ka” at the MGM Grand. It was a very eventful day that was absolutely perfect. The next morning, I found a little girl to give my red roses bouquet to at breakfast. She was very excited to have roses to play with for the rest of her trip. I hope some day she marries her true love and feels as beautiful as I did on my wedding day.”
