“We were married at the Disneyland Hotel on September 18, 2017 at the Rose Court Garden. Our lunch reception was held at a ballroom in the Grand Californian Hotel. Our wedding colors were a muted lavender, pink, yellow, white/ivory, with some gold hardware sprinkled throughout. We decided on a Disney wedding very early on; Brian actually proposed in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at the end of 2015. He first visited Disneyland with my family earlier that year and was scoping out a location to propose later that year. Disneyland quickly became a very special place for the both of us.
Our wedding theme was a mix of us and “…and they lived happily ever after.” I wanted to make sure that all of the details reflected our relationship. For example, our escort cards were modeled after the Disneyland fastpasses with the bar code being the start of our relationship, the date we got engaged and the date we got married. Our tables were named after rides that we went on during the Disneyland trip we got engaged and our Disney wedding cake was adorned with the words “and they lived happily ever after.” We also incorporated Mickey and Minnie anywhere we could because that is our Disney couple. (You can see us in the parks with matching Mickey and Minnie shirts.) Our cake topper and champagne flutes had Mickey and Minnie on them. I also had a significant amount of DIY elements for the wedding – I hand made all of the bouquets and boutonnieres (hand cut and hand melted).
A few days after the wedding, my husband and I put our wedding attire back on and took wedding portraits inside Disneyland in the early morning. It was an absolutely surreal experience.
