Are you dreaming of a destination wedding? Have you ever considered getting married in the Arizona desert? We hadn’t, but our minds quickly changed when we happened upon this beyond beautiful, rustic yet glam wedding captured by April Maura Photography. The venue was Saguaro Lake Ranch, an Arizona guest ranch set by the Salt River in the shadow of the Bulldog Cliffs. The ranch offers a private location with twenty cabins, two outdoor wedding ceremony locations, and on site amenities and activities. It is available in the months of September to December, and April and May. The majestic setting alone is unbelievable but so is the countless hours the bride and groom spent in the design and creation of every single detail. And we mean EVERY DETAIL! The groom handcrafted the ceremony doorway made from reclaimed French doors, attached to pallets which included painted calligraphy of the wedding parties’ names, as well as the understated pergola that allowed the gorgeous view to take center stage. He took down a few trees and chainsawed 180 wood chargers that would become part of the tablescape. He built a pallet wall, hung with over thirty framed family wedding photos that said, “All you need is love.” We’re sure we are leaving things out but will also mention that he built a greenhouse for the bride so she could grow succulents to use in her wedding florals! Who does that?! The bride’s color palette of rose gold, gold, blush and grey worked perfectly against the Arizona desert. The rose gold sequin table runners combined with the wooden boxes holding succulents and the suspended mason jars filled with fairy lights hung above the head table was perfection. The groom’s mother even got in on the act, baking over 150 dozen cookies for their cookie table! There is so much wedding goodness here you’ve got to scroll down to check it all out! And to think the couple designed and crafted it all themselves without a wedding planner in sight!
