David Tutera for Mon Cheri Bride ~ Amy

Amy has kept her David Tutera for Mon Cheri Eldora (Style No. 112222) gown hanging up so that she can see it every single day!  Not only do we love hearing that but are also thrilled that Amy allowed us to see what a beautiful bride she was in her gown.  Amy also shared a very personal and heartfelt story with us…

In January of 2012 I had the honor of meeting David at a wedding show in Illinois, I wasn’t even engaged at the time but had been with my future husband for almost 5 years…I knew he was the one after 3 months! I had my picture taken with him & he signed his Big White Book of Weddings & a Disney Plaque with a Cinderella Quote on it! I found out after meeting David that the night before my Grandma had been admitted to the hospital, but it was my dream to meet David & my Mom didn’t tell me because she didn’t want anything to ruin it. I remember during the Q & A a lot of girls asking specials ways to honor loved ones that wouldn’t be around for their big day, it didn’t even cross my mind that it could be a possibility.

Fast forward to April, my Grandma passes away from a blood clot after breaking her wrist, it was & still is one of the hardest things I have to deal with. That following month on our 5 year Anniversary my Husband finally popped the question, it was one of the best days of my life, but as we drove home and passed the cemetery where my Grandma is my Husband lifted my hand and said ” I did it Grandma” it was a quick reminder that she wouldn’t be able to share our day with us. As time passed and the wedding planning began, I started looking at dresses and never dreamed I could get a David Tutera dress, I had tried on about 5 dresses and fell in love with one, but something just didn’t feel right. As I was changing, my Maid of Honor made a call to a local store that sells David’s dresses. I only tried on 2 dresses at that store & the last dress was my dress…Eldora, everyone cried and I had that bride moment. I feel like it was a sign from Grandma since she was sick the day I met him & now couldn’t be with me. The day I became a Mrs. I walked down the aisle in Eldora wearing my Grandma’s pearls she wore on her wedding day, having my Bridesmaid wear blue, my Grandma’s favorite color & even having her Godson (my cousin) marry us in a catholic church just like she would have wanted.

I feel like everything came full circle that day even though she couldn’t be with me. Please let David know how grateful I am for making something so difficult a little bit easier for me that day, a day I will never forget and in turn will always remember him!
