David Tutera Helps Terminally Ill Bride Get Her Wish

The Make-A-Wish Foundation reached out to designer David Tutera to help make one 18-year-old woman’s wish a reality. When Leslie Rivera, terminally ill with leukemia, was referred to the foundation this fall, the only thing she wanted was to marry her best friend and high school sweetheart, Daniel Mendez, in an event coordinated by David Tutera. On November 21, 2013, Leslie married Daniel in a ceremony organized by the designer and his team that was inspired by the wedding scene in Twilight.  Leslie wore David Tutera for Mon Cheri wedding dress Vera, style 114289, from the Spring 2014 collection.

Strapless wedding dress Vera is an embroidered lace and tulle ball gown fit for a princess with a sweetheart neckline featuring eyelash trim, a softly embroidered lace bodice with hand-beaded jeweled detail at the natural waistline, a softly curved back bodice, and a gathered full skirt with matching lace appliqués cascading down to the scalloped hemline and a chapel length train with matching eyelash trim. Available in Ivory/Stone and solid White, wedding dress Vera comes in sizes 0 – 20 and 18W – 26W. For more about this wedding dress, visit http://davidtuteraformoncheri.com/wedding-dresses/114289/.
